The High Wycombe Central Aid Society Furniture Project recently celebrated the inauguration of its new van at the Bucks Free Press offices in Loudwater. Pictured left to right: Clare Martens (chairman Bucks Housing), Andrew Lyon (furniture project, Central Aid), Rosemary Vere (chairman of trustees, Central Aid) and Philip Priestley (chairman, Chiltern District Council). A grant of £10,000 from the Gannett Foundation (The Bucks Free Press parent group) helped us to buy a replacement van at the start of this year. Our previous van, which we'd had for a good ten to twelve years, had become increasingly unreliable and consequently very costly to run. We're very grateful to the Gannett Foundation for their generous gift, and also to regular assistance from Bucks Housing and Chiltern District Council which helps our Furniture Project to continue. We hope to get many years service out of our new van! For more information about the Gannett Foundation Fund UK please see this page on the Bucks Free Press website.
