Changes at Furniture Project
Monday, 25 August 2008 17:50

Following a review, we have recently introduced a number of important changes to the way we operate at the Furniture Project as from 19 August 2008:

Discount Cards

Firstly, we will be issuing 'discount cards' to all registered customers which will normally be valid for 1 year. In order to buy furniture at the discount price you will need to produce your discount card, which you can pick up the next time you visit us. Unless you have registered recently, your current card will be valid until 31 December 2008. If you bring current proof of benefit entitlement with you when you collect your new card we can extend this for 1 year.

Opening Times

Secondly, our opening times will be changing. As from 19 August we will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays 10 AM - 3.30 PM, and Saturdays 10 AM - 12 Midday. We will be closed to the public on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to allow our van to load and unload safely.

Fair Use

Thirdly, a reminder that items purchased as a registered customer are for personal use, at the registered address. If you are engaged in trade or other commercial undertakings (such as property letting) you are welcome to buy non-restricted items at the undiscounted price like any other member of the general public.

As from 19 August we will be introducing a formal 'fair use' policy to limit the amount of restricted items (currently 2 wardrobes, 4 single beds and 2 double beds) that customers may buy each year. In addition, customers buying quantitites of other items that are clearly incompatible with their own personal needs may have their registration suspended. We hope everyone will appreciate that there needs to be a fair choice of in-demand items for all registered customers, not just those who have the resources to buy large quantities of them.
