The Central Aid Charity Shop "Mark 2" Opens. Our charity shop has been relocated after the first was returned to the Wycombe District Council to lease to a long term client. This larger charity store, and is located in the Desborough Road on the corner of Bridge Street and once was an insurance brokers office.
The shop sells all kinds of bric-a-brac, clothing, curtains, toys, books and small electrical items. There are also small items of furniture from our furniture project on sale here too. The store is volunteer run, and will be open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays 10am and 4pm. Saturdays 10am and 2pm
This follows a trial period at the previous shop and we are hopeful it will be viable beyond that time as an additional source of income to help fund the charity's activities, such as the Over-50's Pop-in service and our welfare and SSAFA workload. Secretary to the Society Clyde Perkins said: "the reason for the shop was to raise both money and the profile of the charity", We are always looking for volunteers to come and help there. Donations can be made to the charity by dropping off items at the new store or by contacting 01494 535890. |
