Central Aid Furniture Project

About UsThe Warehouse

The Central Aid Furniture Project operates from our warehouse in High Wycombe. Our primary purpose is to collect good quality donated furniture, furnishings and (a currently very limited number of) appliances for sale or grant to those on low incomes.

How it Works

Most items are sold at discounted low prices for anyone who can certify they are on some type of means-tested state benefit. Some items are also available for sale to members of the general public at undiscounted prices in order to raise funds. Other items are given free of charge to those in receipt of the High Wycombe Central Aid Society's own grants scheme.

If you have any items to donate, the first step is to read our furniture donation page. More detailed information is to be found in our Furniture Donation FAQ's. To enquire further or to arrange a collection, please contact us.

If you would like to buy / get furniture then please look here. Also see our Project StatusCurrent Status page for stock and other notices.

RecycleRe-Use & Recycling

Each year we save hundreds of items from landfill by enabling them to be re-used. We are a member of the Furniture Re-Use Network, which works to support organisations like us who are engaged in the re-use and recycling of Furniture.  Where possible, if we cannot collect something we will try to refer you to another organisation who might be able to help, althought this is not always possible.

Funding

We are part of a small local charity operating with minimal grant funding, and must cover the bulk of our operating costs from sales, private fundraising and donations each year in order to survive. The Furniture Project is especially grateful to Chiltern District Council, Bucks Housing and the Gannett Foundation for their support.

Volunteers

We rely heavily on our volunteers to help run the Furniture Project and operate the warehouse. We are very grateful to all those who freely give their time. If you would like to volunteer with us, please contact us for an informal chat.
